Dear Tanya,
Please find enclosed a copy of one page of the sign program for the
new Albertson's shopping center located on Barrows Rd. As Great
Clips is a tenant in the mentioned shopping center, any sign permit
application (or sign) needs to comply with both our standard sign
code and the sign program for the shopping center.
I have highlighted sections of the sign program which have
requirements that were either unaddressed or had non - conforming
statements in the subject sign permit application submitted July 13,
1998.
Please resubmit to my attention the appropriate drawings and
statements in compliance with the sign program.

tubing and am, therefore, unable to confirm compliance.
Requirement F: "No exposed raceways, wireways, or conduits will be allowed.” The
plans submitted indicate exposed raceway and is, therefore, not in compliance.

Requirement G: Wiring. I am unable to find any mention of concealment of wiring in the
plans submitted.
Requirement H: Exposed bolts /fasteners. The plans submitted reflect external /exposed
bolts attaching the sign to the building fascia.
Requirement I: Time clock/disconnect switch. I am unable to locate any indication of this
in the plans submitted. Some indication will be needed to confirm compliance.
Requirement J: Guarantee. I am unable to locate any reference to this in the plans
submitted. Some indication will be needed to confirm compliance.
As indicated previously, this sign program requires the city to scrutinize plans with a
different set of parameters than non - program signs.
This application will remain at my desk pending revised drawings.

remote transformers are not to exceed 5" depth. Wooden backs and channalume letter materials
and manufacture method are specifically prohibited. In addition, the criteria can include raceways
for mainstay letters.
The interior of each letter can is to be painted white. The exterior of the letter return is to be
primed and painted dark bronze, dark blue, or to match the color of the letter faces, or can also
match the building colors.
C. Letter Faces: All letters will be fully enclosed. Standard illuminated channel letters will have
3/16" translucent acrylic sheet, (i.e. Plexiglas), faces.
D. Trimcap/Face retainers: trim cap /face retainers to be a minimum of 1" wide. Color shall be
dark bronze, white, or to match the color of the letter faces, or can also match the building colors.
E. Illumination: Illumination will be internal with neon tubing. Tubing to be a minimum of
12mm.
F. Transformers: Transformers may be fully contained within the letter if the size of the sign
permits, or may be mounted remotely behind the facia. No exposed raceways, wireways, or
conduits will be allowed.
G. Wiring: All raceways, crossovers, wiring, conductors, transformers and other equipment shall
be concealed. If any of the sign wiring, transformers, and/or other equipment are above the
building roofline, a remote raceway and/or the use of sealtite conduit and connectors will be
required.
H. Signs will not utilize exposed bolts, clips, or other fasteners for installation.
I. All signs and sign installation must conform to the standards as outlined in the National
Electric Code, as well as all applicable building and electrical codes. All signs shall be controlled
by a dedicated time clock and have disconnect switch(s) within visible proximity of the sign.
J. All signs shall be guaranteed by the manufacture against defects in material and workmanship
for a minimum of one (1) year.
