The plan review was performed under the Oregon Electrical Specialty Code (OESC) 2002
edition which includes the 2002 edition of the National Electrical Code (NEC). All inspections
will be under these same codes.
The submitted plans are approved subject to the following conditions:
1. All conductors must comply with NEC 310.15(B)(2) (more than three current carrying
conductors...)
2. The fire alarm details shown on the submitted plans are not part of this plan review.
3. Existing wiring shall not be considered in violation of current standards as long as it
complied with the minimum safety code standards, NEC or OESC in effect at the time of
installation (OAR918- 305- 0000). Any existing wiring that is altered or relocated shall
comply with current code standards.
4. Grounded conductors (neutrals) of different systems installed in the same raceway, cable,
enclosure, etc. shall have continuous outer coverings that will distinguish one system
grounded conductor from another. (NEC200.6(D))
5. All 277 volt snap switches ganged in enclosures such that the voltage between adjacent
devices exceeds 300 volts must be installed with permanent barriers between adjacent
devices (NEC404.8(B)). Plastic or metal "add -a- depth" rings do not qualify as permanent
barriers.

6. Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA): It shall be the responsibility of the Architect,
Engineer, Designer, Contractor, Owner and Lessee to research the applicability of the
ADA requirements for the structure. The City of Tigard reviews the plans and inspects
the structure only for compliance with the OESC which may not include all of the
requirements of the ADA.
7. Approved Plans: One set of approved plans, bearing the City of Tigard approval
stamp, shall be maintained on the jobsite. The plans shall be available to the
Building Division inspectors throughout all phases of construction.
