Report (18) D U L L O L S 0 N WEE K E S ARCHITECTURE 4 INTERIORS + PLANNING rch r l er r.ti PC DATE: March 4, 2005 TO: Dan Nelson City of Tigard FROM: John Westfall Po PROJECT: Tigard High SchOel COPY: Craig Marcus Cornerstone RE: Fire sprinkler pipe chase • Dan, I have visited the site and have found that the installation of the fire line and the wall around it on the west face of the new infill building has not been installed per our drawings. Our drawings show the outside wall forming a chase around the pipe with the exterior wall being fully insulated with R- 19 batt insulation. As you noted, the contractor had installed Densglas exterior wall sheathing on the interior wall at this location, prior to installing the chase. Robinson will be removing areas of this sheathing which, in turn, will allow the passive transference of interior air to heat this space. This solution meets the goal of isolating the pipe from the outside environment and will allow it to be surrounded with an interior source of heating /cooling, thus bringing it to code. I appreciate your bringing this to everyone's attention. Submitted by, Dull Olson Weekes Architects IC x_ John P.
