It is important to note the issuance of a permit shall not authorize the violation of any provisions of the OSSC. Permits presuming to give authority to violate or cancel provisions of the OSSC are not valid. The recommendation for approval and issuance of a permit based on the plans, specifications and related material shall not prevent the building official hereafter from requiring the correction of errors in plans, specifications and related material or from preventing the building from being operated in violation. STRUCTURAL SUPPORT: I- Provide- structural calculations to determine- adequacy of the existing roof structure to support both the new compressor rack as well as the condenser per OMSC Section 302.1 b. SEISMIC CONSIDERATIONS: F. Elements of structures and- their attachments permanent nonstructural components and their attachments, and the attachments for permanent equipment supported by a- structure-shall be designed to resist the total design seismic forces prescribed in Section 1632.2. This applies to equipment that weights - more -than 400-pounds: Please provide calculations and detailed attachment. 7 2. REFRIGERATION ISSUES - a, SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: 44 1. The system classification, allowable refrigerants, the maximum quantity, enclosure- requirements, location limitations and field pressure test requirements have not been identified in the construction documents. Each of these will need to be identified per OMSC Section 1102. b. MACHINERY ROOM: 1. By all appearances the mezzanine appears to be a machinery room and is subject to the requirements of OMSC Section 1105 and 1106. Each of the issues described in both of these sections will need to be addressed. These include but are not limited to the following: Access Tests Quantity- normal vent. Dimensions Ventilation Emergency conditions Doors Discharge location Relief devices Openings Make -up air Special Requirements We are concern for the impact of the new compressor rack on -the existing systems. c. PIPE SUPPORT: 1. Please clarify how the refrigerant piping is to be supported both horizontally and vertically per OMSC Section 305. d. CONDENSATE: Please clarify if there is -a- condensate issue and how is it addressed per OMSC Section 307.
