The plan review was performed under the State of Oregon Structural Special Code OSS
edition; and the Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue Ordinance 99 -01 C) 1998
submitted plans are approved subject to the following. (TVFR99 01) 1999 edition. The
General requirements
1. A key box shall be installed within 20 feet of the main entrance. The bottom of the key box shall be
not less than 8 feet nor more than 10 feet above the walking surface unless approved by the Fire
Chief. 902.4.2 TVFR99 -01
2. Upon completion of the installation, a satisfactory test of the entire system shall be made in the
presence of the Fire Chief. All functions of the system or alteration shall be tested. 1007.3.4.1

3. The permittee shall provide written certification to the Fire Chief that the system has been installed
in accordance with the approved plans and specifications. A copy of the completed form shall be
maintained on the premises and made available to the Fire Chief. 1007.3.4.2 TVFR99 -01.
4. Connections to the light and power service shall be on a dedicated branch circuit. The circuit and
connections shall be mechanically protected. The circuit disconnecting means shall be accessible
only to authorized personnel and shall be clearly and permanently marked FIRE ALARM
CIRCUIT CONTROL. Standard 10 -2, Section 1- 5.2.8.2, TVFR99 -01
5. Manual Fire Alarm activation devices shall be mounted in the following reach ranges:
• Forward Reach - 15 inches to 48 inches above the floor. 1109.2.3.5 OSSC
• Side Reach — 9 inches to 54 inches above the floor. 1109.2.3.6 OSSC

6. The annunciation of all zones and device identification shall be on electrically supervised initiatin
circuits to the main fire alarm control panel. Alarm, supervisory and trouble signals shall be g
annunciated in the main control panel and in any required remote annunciator panels by means of
an audible signal and a visual display. Such annunciation shall indicate the building floor, zone or
other designated area from which the alarm or trouble signal originated. For the purpose of
annunciation, zoning shall be in accordance with the following

considered as a separate zone.
2. Each floor of a building shall be considered as a separate zone.
3. Each section of floor of building that is separated by area separation walls or by horizontal exits
shall be considered as a separate zone.

7. When required by chief, fire alarm systems shall be monitored by an approved central, proprietary or
remote station service or a local alarm which gives audible and visual signals at a constantly

Approved Plans: 1 set of approved plans, bearing the City of Tigard approval stamp, shall be
maintained on the jobsite. The plans shall be available to the Building Division inspectors throughout

Premises Identification: Approved numbers or addresses shall be provided for all new buildings in
such a position as to be plainly visible and legible from the street or road fronting the property.
When submitting revised drawings or additional information, please attach a copy of the enclosed City
of Tigard, Letter of Transmittal. The letter of transmittal assists the City and
