Dear Mr. Barnett:
This letter is intended to notify the City of Tigard that Zipper Zeman Associates, d.b.a. Terracon,
will be providing construction observation services for the construction of the GeoPier®
aggregate piers for the WinCo Foods Store Addition.
The services to be provided will confirm that the piers are constructed in general accordance
with the Geopier Plans (sheets G1.00 and G2.00) prepared by Geopier Foundation Company
West and dated May 12, 2008. Observations are planned to confirm the depth and diameter of
the piers, and confirm the soil conditions encountered in the pier excavations are consistent with
the findings of our Geotechnical Report. We will also document the aggregate materials used
for the piers, and the number and thickness of lifts used to construct the piers.
