HYDROSTATIC TESTING 1. Systems having more than 20 sprinklers or having a fire department connection shall pass a hydrostatic pressure test performed on the residential sprinkler system in accordance with NFPA 13, Standard for the Installation of Sprinkler Systems. 6.3.2.1 Hydrostatic testing of the system shall occur at sprinkler final. The contractor's material and test certificate required by NFPA 13, 16.1 shall be completed and signed by both the installer and building owner. 2. Underground mains and lead -in connections to system risers shall be flushed before a connection is made to sprinkler piping. The flushing operation shall be continued until the water issuing from the main is clear. The flushing operation shall be performed at the hydraulically calculated water demand rate of the system. The flushing operations shall be performed such that the disposal of water issuing from the test outlets does not damage the property. 6.3.1 3. At least three spare sprinklers of each type, temperature rating, and orifice size used in the system shall be installed on the premises. 6.4.1 5. Sprinklers frames shall not be painted or enameled unless applied by the manufacture and the sprinkler has been listed with such finishes. 6.6.7.1.7 Approved Plans: 1 set of approved plans, bearing the City of Tigard approval stamp, shall be maintained on the jobsite. The plans shall be available to the Building Division inspectors throughout all phases of construction. 106.3.1 OSSC When submitting revised drawings or additional information, please attach a copy of the enclosed City of Tigard, Letter of Transmittal.
