The techniques and principles of structural analysis used for these calculations conform to generally accepted standards of the engineering community. The structure qualifies to be designed under the requirements of the Oregon Residential Specialty Code 2005 Edition. These design calculations have been prepared based upon Architectural drawings given to us by Dave Spitzer Architect, Inc. GENERAL DESIGN LOADS: Lateral Design Force Requirements per Table R301.2(1) Wind Pressure 100 mph Exp. B Seismic Design Category Dl Roof LL = 25 PSF Snow Roof DL = 15 PSF Floor LL = 40 PSF Floor DL = 15 PSF Soil Bearing Pressure =1500 PSF (Assumed) EMPIRICAL LATERAL CONSTRUCTION REQUIREMENTS USING BRACED WALL PANEL METHODS: The new addition to the wood -frame structure will have exterior walls sheathed with wood structural panels in accordance with Table R602.10.3(2) Provisions. The lateral design will be in accord with the provisions of these criteria as outlined in Chapter 6 of the 2005 O.R.S.C. These provisions as specific for this particular structure are defined by the following code requirement as reproduced from the I.R.C.
