Dear Mr. Lakey:
The Washington County Department of Health and Human Services Environmental Health
Program has received remodel plans for the McDonald's Restaurant #11502 located at 12388 SW
Scholls Ferry Road in Tigard, Oregon.
The plans you submitted have not been approved. Our records indicate that existing
handwashing sinks in the facility are not sufficient to serve the proposed/expanded open food
activities at and near the drive -thru window. The plans show an existing front handwashing sink
that is too far away to serve the window area.
The number and placement of handwashing sinks must be adequate to serve all food service
activities including preparation, cooking, dishwashing, serving, bussing, bartending, and
restrooms. Each sink must be kept free for its intended use and cannot be blocked by equipment
that restricts access. Adjacent work surfaces or clean utensils must be protected through
installation of a splash guard.
You are invited to submit revised plans that address this deficiency at your earliest convenience.
