Regarding your phone question this morning about which alternates are being accepted, the following is the best clarification we can provide at this time. • ALTERNATE 1 - LOWER FLOOR STORAGE: Not accepted, delete sheet M3.5 ALTERNATE 2 - COURT INFILL MAIN FLOOR GRIDS 4 TO 5: May be accepted, please review base condition and alternate condition. Alternate condition is shown on M3.6 with schedules on M3.4. ALTERNATES 3 THROUGH 12 DO NOT AFFECT MECHANICAL. ALTERNATE 13 - CLASSROOM ACOUSTICAL CLOUDS: This alternate was not accepted. Therefore we have continuous ceilings in the classrooms, Activity rooms, Library. Per large note on bottom of M3.1 W through M3.2E we refer to 2/M3.1E for each classroom / library condition that is in base bid. Cloud condition does not need to be reviewed (on main plans). ALTERNATE 14 - BOILERS: More energy efficient boiler was specified in alternate than base bid. This is not accepted, please review only base bid, less efficient boiler condition. ALTERNATE 15 - HVAC CONTROLS: Original bid documents had Johnson controls as an additive alternate from other brands in base bid. In Addendum 6 the base bid was removed, alternate of Johnson became base bid. Please review with only Johnson Controls in mind. ALTERNATE 16 - PAGING: This does not affect mechanical. The additional information is supplied below as requested per our phone conversation this morning. 1. KITCHEN HOOD: We understand that our fax (dated 1/6/05 item #2) gave the required f information to the City. The fax referred to Sheets K3.1 through K4.4, 1 M3.2E, A9.2E keynote 8, E3.2E, and E3.3. We understand the City has not had time to check into it yet, so if there is any additional information required, let us know. 2. CORRIDOR GLAZING: a 5 Per A1.0, General Note #7 (and Specification 15300, 1.05, 5) there will be 0 `5 deferred submittals from the sub - contractor regarding the deluge heads in IL' the corridor glazing. Therefore we request the plans be reviewed as submitted with the head design as a deferred submittal. 3. KILN HOOD: The kiln that will be supplied will be less than 20 cubic feet, and electric. E3.2W shows the electrical connection on the north wall of Room Z B203. All previous kilns (according to the District) have been less than 20 cubic feet. Therefore, we are not required per code to construct an overhead kiln hood. Our 4" vent shown on M3.2W should suffice per the code and other schools. Thanks for your efforts.
