I 10 -06 -10 - Grouting
As requested, CTI representative was on site to observe grout infill of an existing CMU wall on grid 26 at new
opening location (refer to detail `B' on sheet S061). Contractor discovered that existing CMU wall is partially
grouted at 2' on center, vertically. The detail on sheet 6.1 specifies all cells to be fully grouted above the new
opening. Holes were cut into the empty cells at 2 course down from the beam on grid 26 at roof line, for the
width of new opening. Cells wee filled with a 3/8" grout from Knife River (mix #60N3R2S0 with intrusion aid
added at plant). Height of grout pour was approximately 16'. Slump was approximately 9 ". Grout was placed
with a line pump and was not vibrated. There were no samples cast as these were no CMU block to make
grout samples per ASTM methods.
