Number of Stories: 3 Permit Number: BUP2001 -00389 Sprinklered: No Occupancy Group: R -1 Fire Alarm: Yes Type of Construction: V -One Hour Rated Corridors: Yes Area of Work: Units 75, 79, & 83 The City of Tigard Building Division has reviewed the submitted building plans for the above referenced address in accordance with the Oregon Structural Specialty Code (OSSC), 1998 edition and Uniform Fire Code (UFC) as amended by Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue. The plans are approved subject to the following conditions. 1. Plumbing and mechanical permits are required for this project. No work is to commence on these portions of the project until such time as permits are issued. 2. Hard -wired smoke detectors are being installed throughout the entire building in -lieu of sprinkling the three affected units. We have a letter on file requesting this alternate method of construction. Smoke detectors shall be located in each separate bedroom and in the hall adjacent to the bedrooms in all apartment units in this building. The detectors shall be equipped with a battery backup in the event of a power failure and the detector shall emit a signal when the batteries are low. Wiring shall be permanent and without a disconnecting switch other than those required for over current protection. Any revisions, alterations or modifications of the approved drawings shall be reviewed by the appropriate design professional prior to review and approval by the City of Tigard Building Division. 4. A minimum 2A:10,BC fire extinguisher shall be located at each floor level in the common stairway. UFC standard 10 -1. 5. A manual and automatic fire alarm is required. This building is already equipped with this system but shall be tested at the final inspection. UFC 1003.2.9. 6. All phases of the construction shall be inspected and approved by the City of Tigard Building Division prior to covering construction. OSSC 108. 7. The doors at the first two levels of the common stairways shall be listed and labeled doors with a fire- resistive rating of at least three- fourths -hour. The top floor doors may be labeled 20- minute assemblies with "S" labels. OSSC 1003.3.3.10 and 1004.3.4.3.2.1. 8. A copy of the approved plans shall be on -site at all times and made available for the city inspectors for inspection purposes. OSSC 106.4.2. 9. A final inspection and issuance of a certificate of occupancy is required prior to occupancy of any of the affected units. OSSC 109.
