Subject: Floor Joist Attachment
On page 2 of 7 of our drawings we show the attachment of the floor joists to the floor support
beams. On this detail we call for three `/2 inch diameter grade 5 bolts. The as shipped detail only
allows for two 1 /2 inch diameter grade 5 bolts.
We have reviewed this detail and find that the two 1 /2 inch diameter grade 5 bolts are adequate.
Therefore, the connections of the floor joist as erected are accepted.

An ACS representative was on site for bolt inspection using load indicating washers. Bolts were
tested using calibrated Skidmore Tension Indicating device. Bolts reached the required 28 Kip
for 'V4" A325 Bolts.
Installation of bolts meets the requirements of ASS Ninth Edition..
NOTE: All work noted above is per the job specifications and required codes. No items are
in non - compliance at this time.
