GUIDELINES OVERVIEW These guidelines are intended to provide an outline for the permit application and review procedures for obtaining the necessary permit(s) to install a solar energy system for a new or existing residential building. A solar energy system is defined, for the purpose of this guide, as a solar water heating or solar electric (also known as a photovoltaic or PV) system. 2. DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR SUBMITTAL a. Racking and Panel Plan 3. PERMITTING REQUIREMENTS Structural: a. Prescriptive Installations. Roof installations on conventional light- framed wood construction with pre - engineered trusses or roof framing members that answer yes to the following criteria shall not require an engineered design: 1.
