Thank you for your submitted request. In review of your submitted request dated December 26, 2006,
requesting to utilize section 104.10 of the (OSSC) Oregon Structural Specialty Code. You request the use of
pre - manufactured wall panel provided by Porta -Fab Corporation consists of (2) layers of gyp board with a
2" polystyrene core. `The building official shall have the authority to ender interpretations of this code and to adopt policies
and procedures in onler to clarify the application of its provisions. Such interpretations, pacies and procedures shall be in
comp with the intent and purpose of this code. Such polices and procedures shall not have the effect of waiving requirements
specifically provided for in this code."
The evidence submitted for review was the wall panel assembly test results by Factory Mutual in accordance
with the ASTM -84 Fire Test Method. See "Test 1" in the attached Factory Mutual test report This test
demonstrates compliance with OSSC Code section 2603.3 " Surface - burning Characteristics ". The tested
panel assembly had a Flame Spread rating of 5 which is under the allowable limit of 75 indicated in Section
2603.3 and a Smoke Density rating of 20 under the allowable limit of 450 indicated in Section 2603.3.
RESPONSE
This test demonstrates compliance with OSSC Code section 2603.3 "Surface- burning characteristics ". The
tested panel assembly had a Flame Spread rating of 5 which is under the allowable limit of 75 indicated in
Section 2603.3 and a Smoke Density rating of 20 under the allowable limit of 450 indicated in Section 2603.3.
In closing, the proposed design is satisfactory and complies with the intent of the provisions of this code, and
that the material, method or work offered is, for the purpose intended, at least the equivalent of that
prescribed in this code in quality, strength, effectiveness, fire resistance, durability and safety." This
approval is a site specific approval an not carry over to any other site.

Dear Mr. Blalock;
Per our phone conversation on December 13th and at the request of Val Henzel I am
requesting approval, as allowed under section 104.10 "Alternative Materials, Design and
Methods ", of the pre- manufactured wall panel used in the assembly of the modular
room specified on our permit drawings for the Nike Golf Ball Lab submitted to the City of
Tigard on 12/13/06.
The pre- manufactured wall panel provided by Porta -Fab Corporation consists of (2)
layers of ' /2" gyp. bd with a 2" polystyrene core. The panel does not contain any
electrical conduit or devices. All electrical conduit, outlets and switches are contained
within a vertical structural column and are completely independent of the pre -
manufactured wall panel.
The wall panel assembly has been tested by Factory Mutual in accordance with the
