I met with Mr. Poston and Ken Morris of Pipe Dreams on site. The purpose of my visit was to observe a proofroll of the building pad base rock. The proofroll was conducted using a dump truck filled with 5 to 7 yd' of crushed rock. Rebar for the floor slab had been placed over approximately 75 percent of the pad. Minimal deflections were observed under the weight of the truck. Deflections of greater than 1 inch and permanent ruts of to 134 inches were observed near the entrance to the pad on the north side of the building. The area was approximately 6 feet wide and 10 feet long. According to Mr. Poston, concrete for the building pad will be pumped and no truck traffic will be traveling on the building pad pr ,r to pouring, which is scheduled for Tuesday. We recommended overexcavating the identified soft area up to 12 inches below the base rock and backfilling with clean, crushed rock. Based on our observations, provided the identified soft area is prepared as recommended, the building pad base rock has been prepared in general accordance with the intent of the specifications and our recommendations. • Signature: This report presents opinions formed as a resukof ow observation of amities relating w geotechnkal engineering or environmental services.
