Dear Mr. Shannon:
Miller Consulting Engineers provided special inspection of the epoxy anchor installation
for the ten holdown anchor bolts per the alternate holdown to the structural drawings.
The contractor placed (10) 5/8" threaded rods at the locations per plan. All the holes were
drilled to proper depth, cleaned and blown out. The contractor discarded any epoxy not
fully mixed at the start of each tube and used an adequate amount of epoxy in each hole.
The expiration date of the epoxy was 9/30/10.
The '6" x 8" Titan 11D shear anchors were also installed per the plans.
The two holdowns that required the 3 /4" shim to attach to the double stud had 3 1/2" SDS
screws instead of the 2 1/2" provided with the holdown bracket to engage both studs.
The work was performed satisfactorily.
