Ron,
Regarding detail 6/S3.
It is acceptable to replace the LSL blocking between the wall studs with a lower 1 1/4 x 9 1/2 LSL ledger pushed tight
under the 1 1/4 x 16 LSL ledger. Nail lower ledger to each wall stud with (3) 16d sinkers. All wall studs need to be 8" o /c,
even over the windows.
At the new shearwall location install the sheathing to the underside of the 1 1/4 x 16 LSL ledger, install the 1 1/4 x 9 1/2
LSL ledger with (3) 16d sinkers into each wall stud. Nail ledger to the OSB sheathing with 10d common nails at 6" o /c.
Connect the lower ledger with the upper ledger with Simpson 'LTP4' clips at 2' -0" o /c.
