Correspondence / ( t C 9 4 v lad/ DESIGNER ly 26,, 0 Mr. Dan Nelson — Senior Plans Examiner City if Tigard- Building Codes Division Re: Subject: Plans Examination Process Permit No.: MST2010 -00105 (Vasquez Residence Addition) Owner of Property: Miguel & Melissa Vasquez Site Address: 10475 SW Clydesdale Place, Tigard OR Site Legal: T2S R1W SO3AA Tax Lot 3100 WM Dear Dan Nelson: Please note that all items have indeed been addressed in our pervious correspondence. This letter will serve to offer compromise where compromise is possible, and to direct you to the sections of the code which allow design calculations where compliance with prescriptive methods is functionally impossible. 1.) Please see the applicant Melissa Vasquez and/or Nathan Fultz, representative for the general contractor, for copies of the truss calculations. 2.) The bearing wall which falls between the stairway and utility room simply transfers the loads from the second floor rim joist (B -9) to the first floor system. The existing 4X8 post and beam floor system (B -10) proves adequate to distribute those loads to terra-firma. In the event that you personally feel that this wall would be better served by additional in -line post and beam placed beneath the bearing portion of this wall, please feel free to add your notes on the approved set, with my blessings. 3.) A "TYPICAL PERIMETER FOOTING CHECK" calculation has been provided, again. This calculation verifies that even a 12" footing is adequate for the proposed loads. Please review section R301.1.3 Engineered Design. The enclosed calculations demonstrate that the existing 14" wide footing is adequate. In the event that you feel that your calculations indicate otherwise, please facilitate our discussion by submitting a copy of your calculations for our review. Thank you. Please find copies of calculations and proofs included. Thank you, Dan. Sin e - ly: 1,d /J/% /l/ kS'•t,Designe P.O.
