By letter of application received December 8, 2008, PNWR requested an Amending Order to authorize installation of one full circle guardrail in lieu of the ordered standard urban-type guardrail adjacent to the existing automatic signals in the SW quadrant of the crossing. Due to the limited space between the curb and edge of sidewalk at the signal, this change will permit the walkable portion of sidewalk to be set back five feet from the signal mast and still retain eight feet of sidewalk width. Rail Division staff has investigated the request for an Amending Order. All parties are in agreement with the Amending Order. From the foregoing, the Department finds that Order No. 50549 should be amended as follows: IT IS THEREFORE ORDERED that: 1. Paragraph 2, page 2, of Order 50549 is amended to read: 1 ORDER NO. 50762 The Appendix to this Order depicts the scope of the proposed project at SW Main Street. At the crossing, two main line tracks will be shifted eastward and the westerly siding track removed, as depicted in the Appendix to this Order (Sheet 2). Applicant further proposes to construct sidewalks across the realigned main line tracks. Raised median curb will be constructed on both roadway approaches. The project includes installation of DO NOT STOP ON TRACKS (R8-8) signs and guardrail adjacent to the new Flashing-light signals and automatic gates. 2. Paragraph 3. a. (3) of Order 50549 is amended to read: Furnish and install guardrail adjacent to the ordered automatic signals in the NE and SW quadrants of the crossing, as depicted in the Appendix to this Order(Sheet 2), and located according to OAR 741-110-0040 (7). In the NE quadrant, the guardrail shall be installed according to ODOT Drawing No. RD 445-(u rbaninstallation). The_S_W__quadrant guardrail shall be a modified urban, full-circle guardrail. 3. The Appendix to Order No. 50549, Sheet 2, shall be replaced by the Appendix to this Amending Order, Sheet 1. All provisions of Order No. 50549 that are not in conflict with this Order shall remain in full force and effect.
