Dear Brian,
For Special Inspection on these anchors, it would be reasonable to torque test 10 -15%
of the anchors installed to verify the installation. The anchors have a letter stamped on the
end to indicate the length/embedment. The anchors called for on the drawing are the Hilti TZ
per ICC Report #1917. That report calls for the anchors to be torqued to 40 ft-lbs.
If in randomly checking 10 -15% anchors to the 40 ft of torque you find no
problems, then it would be reasonable to assume that the anchors are installed properly.
