Meeting Minutes
January 8, 2020
Members Present: Carine Arendes, George Brandt, Candi Cornils, Alan Eckert, Ben Gooley, Ruth
Harshfield (Chair), Richard Keast (Vice Chair), Serge Killingsworth (alternate), Holly Koontz (via
phone), Lonnie Martinez, Sarah Serata (alternate), and Lindsey Wise.
Members Absent: Carl Fisher.
Staff Present: Sr. Transportation Planner Dave Roth, and Senior Project Engineer Tegan Enloe.

1. CALL TO ORDER
Chair Watkins called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm. The meeting was held in the Red Rock
Conference Room, at 13125 SW Hall Blvd.

The November 6, 2019 meeting Minutes were unanimously approved.
4. PUBLIC COMMENT – None.
5. WELCOME NEW MEMBERS
Dave welcomed new members, distributed the Complete Streets Policy, and discussed the various
TTAC responsibilities.
6. TTAC BOARD ELECTIONS
The role of Chair and Vice Chair were discussed. It was decided to hold the elections tonight so the
new Chair could get a start on planning for the year. Ruth was elected as Chair and Richard as Vice
Chair.
7. TTAC 2020 WORK PLAN
Dave a brief overview of topics discussed last year. Potential items for discussion this year include
sharing transportation related information (webinars, videos, etc.), handling the numerous public
requests for transportation projects (evaluation and communication of decision rationale), the
Transportation System Plan (TSP) update, a tour of various areas to discuss transportation issues,
new city engineering design standards, the Metro transportation bond, the hosted meetings with
speakers on transportation issues, inviting Chief McAlpine to attend a TTAC meeting, securing a
sustainable funding for Safe Routes To School, look for new transportation funding, the
Transportation Safety Action Plan, educational material for Complete Streets program, establish
Complete Streets Policy performance measures, development code, ped crossing improvement plan,
neighborhood traffic improvement plan and others. Dave will send out a prioritized list of topics.

8. NON-AGENDA ITEMS
Metro is holding a meeting on January 13 at the Metro Regional Center to discuss the 2020
transportation investment measure. On January 16 there is a Keep the Southwest Corridor
Affordable at the Muslim Educational Trust. The state of the city event is on January 28 at the
Broadway Rose Theater.

72ND AVENUE -RECOMMENDATIONS SO FAR
The project team has made a number of recommendations regarding lane configuration options for 72nd Avenue, based on
community input and evaluation of various alternatives. Those recommendations are summarized below.
Preliminary proposed design includes:
•Two travel lanes in each direction
•One continuous center turn lane
•Protected bike lanes
•Sidewalks and pedestrian amenities
•On-street parking, east side of street
Highway 217 to Gonzaga
A proposed design for this is currently being
refined. It will serve as a transition between
sections to the north and south. The design may
include one or two travel lanes in each direction. It
also is expected to include:
•One continuous center turn lane
•Protected bike lanes
•Sidewalks and pedestrian amenities
•On-street parking, east side of street
Gonzaga to Beveland
Preliminary proposed design includes:
•One travel lane in each direction
•One continuous center turn lane

Dartmouth to Red Rock Creek
