A RESOLUTION APPOINTING ALTERNATE BOARD MEMBER BART HAWKINS TO
COMPLETE A VACATED MID-TERM POSITION AS A VOTING MEMBER OF THE TIGARD
LIBRARY BOARD.
WHEREAS,one midterm resignation was received on May 18,2023 from Library Board member Jim
Ivler;and
WHEREAS,a position for one voting member for the Tigard library Board opened with this midterm
resignation;and
WHEREAS,according to the Tigard Public Library Board bylaws,members serving as alternates and in
good standing will be given first consideration to fill a mid-term position;and
WHEREAS, the Tigard Public Library Board Alternate members were interviewed by the Appointment
Advisory Committee on June 8,2023;and
WHEREAS,Alternate member Bart Hawkins has been recommended for appointment by the Tigard
City Council.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the Tigard City Council that:
SECTION 1: Bart Hawkins is hereby appointed to the Tigard Library Board as a Member to complete
a vacated position,effective June 27,2023 through December 31,2024;and
SECTION 2: This resolution is effective immediately upon passage.
PASSED: This 27th day of June 2023.
