He noted they have some interesting policy decisions that will need to be made so they believe it would be a good idea to form the annual joint Planning Commission/City Council meeting around those policy questions. That will give the Planning Commission the opportunity to discuss them directly with City Council. (The joint meeting with City Council will take place on Tuesday, March 8.) January 10, 2022 Page 3 of 3 Commissioner Brandt had a procedural question about who he can consult between meetings if he has questions about a case. As staff liaison to the Planning Commission, Tom McGuire said that he would be the one to contact if anyone had questions. The commissioners are not supposed to contact each other about anything having to do with a quasi-judicial case. There are to be no emails or meetings amongst themselves regarding these types of cases. They may, however, talk about any legislative case. They just need to keep in min d that any discussion regarding quasi-judicial cases is not allowed. Tom reminded the commissioners that during the public hearings commissioners have the opportunity to ask questions of staff, the applicants or anyone who testifies.
