A Ticket to Ride Victory: Or Scrabble, Wingspan, or Azul. WCCLS has the world's largest library board game collection, and Tigard's collection has over 230 games! Check one out and gather your favorite people for a rainy game night. Browse the list and place a hold. 2. National Gardening Day: Kids and families can join the Tigard Youth Advisory Council on Friday, April 14 at 2 PM for a celebration of our planet with a storytime and craft! 3. Money Smarts: Money Smart Week is April 15-21. You might increase your dollars and money sense when you check out a book from the curated collection on the second floor. 4. Books & Roses: Every year in the Catalonia region of Spain, folks celebrate love by giving each other roses and books. Tigard teens in grades 6-12 can borrow the idea and celebrate with a special edition teen Take & Make and wrapped surprise book. Stop by April 22-23 while supplies last. 5. A Poem for Your Pocket: Poem in Your Pocket Day encourages people to express themselves through poetry. Pick up a poem for your pocket on the second floor beginning Sunday, April 23. Kids El Día De Los Niños! El Día De Los Libros! Day of the Child! Day of the Book! Saturday, April 29 | 1-3 PM Burgess Community Room | Kids & Families Join us for a multicultural celebration of children, books, and the joy of reading with fun activities for the whole family, including a behind-the-scenes tour of the library’s book robot! Teens Spiderverse Marathon Thursday, April 13 | 2-7 PM Teen Scene | Teens in Grade 6-12 No school? Spend an afternoon off at the library watching Spider- men (and Gwens) from multiple universes take over the screen. Munch on snacks and feel free to heckle! Adults Coffee & Conversation Monday, April 17 | 9-10 AM Burgess Community Room | Adults Get to know library staff and meet some of your neighbors. Free coffee and light breakfast. Everyone is welcome. Looking for something good to read? If you don't see the perfect selection in these lists, ask Your Personal Librarian! Fill out this simple form to tell us a little bit about what you like (or what you can't stand!) in books, movies, or music and we will email you a list of titles chosen just for you. We can also browse our shelves and select materials we think you might be interested in. Tell us what you like here, and we'll pull a stack of items, then check them out to you. Find Book Club Help From Our Book Club Clinic! Do you need ideas for books that everyone will actually read? How about questions that spark better discussions? Is your club stuck in a rut? The Tigard Public Library staff is here to help with all of your book club issues. Just fill out this short form and a librarian will respond with recommendations in 5-7 business days. Kids Día for All Ages Each story matters and every child counts! El día de los ninos/El día de los libros (Children's Day/Book Day) is a celebration of children and wonderful books.
