Introduction TTLL�\�'TT(((\/�j' E LSrJ�+ 0 At the request of Velocitel, we have performed a supplemental struct a ly is ° addition of (4) new Marathon battery racks to an existing equipment room on the third floor at ; PR35 Tigard in Tigard, Oregon, in accordance with the layout plan as specified on sheet A-2 of o Velocitel drawings dated November 29, 2012, also included in the appendix of this report. The modification was completed in conformance with the 2010 Oregon Structural Specialties Code (OSSC-10), the Steel Construction Manual (AISC 13), the National Design Specification for Wood Construction (NDS-05), the Uniform Building Code 1991 edition (UBC-91) and the American Society of Civil Engineers Standard 7-05 (ASCE/SEI 7-05)under the following site specific conditions: Basic Wind Speed: 95 mph (OSSC-10 Figure 1609 for Washington County) Exposure Category: B IN Occupancy Category: II OFFICE COPY Seismic Site Class: D z, A previous report dated January 31, 2013, had recommended adding additional floor joists under the existing floor to support the new batteries. During the implementation of these recommendations, it was discovered that six steel beams existed that were not in the original structural floor plans - four W10X15's spanning 18 feet between the existing W21X62 main girders, and two W4X13's spanning 4'6" between two of the W10X15's. As a consequence, these s previously undocumented beams were analyzed for the load of the new marathons, and new . details provided conforming with the field conditions found. , I II. Proposed Configuration s e Add four (4) new Marathon battery racks to an existing third floor equipment room. Three(3) racks shall have 20 batteries, and one (1) rack shall have 18 batteries. One Alpha Technologies y Power Rack is to be installed. One Absolyte Battery stack is to be removed in addition to one =' telco rack. All other existing equipment will remain in place. o III. Conclusion Based on our current analysis, the wood 2"X12" equipment room floor joists are still not 7 adequate to carry the new plus existing loads. Measures had to be taken to distribute the . load from the3 batteries to other existing members. 2 r As a consequence, two of the new marathon stacks are to be placed on two new 4X13 rails that m will span 4'6" between two existing W10x15 steel beams in the floor structure below. The z rq Engineering ABOVEthe Standard I additional two new marathon stacks will be placed on a new 3' X 5' spreader plate to be centered with the tong dimension parallel and over the W21X62 beam in the floor structure below. These batteries will be attached to the spreader plate and will be bolted to the existing floor joists with 1/2"X 6" long diameter lag screws. it Details have been provided showing each of the above conditions and the attachments I required. Other than the information in the details provided, no additional structural modifications are required for the installation of the new batteries. LDC must be notified immediately if site conditions are found to vary from our assumptions as additional analysis and design may be necessary.
