We recommend that the Tigard Police Department review the feasibility of providing more frequent use-
of-force data to increase transparency. This will assist the Tigard Police Department and the broader
community in monitoring use-of-force incidents in Tigard.
The TPD should review the following and report back to the PSAB or other appropriate body:
• Feasibility of anonymized and updated use-of-force data for the prior 12-month period on a rolling
quarterly basis compared to the current annual release
• Cost-benefit analysis, including public outreach benefits, for providing use-of-force data for the
prior 12-month period on a rolling quarterly compared to the current annual release
• Feasibility of providing contextualized information for use-of-force incidents including, but not
limited to: race, ethnicity, gender, socioeconomic status, and mental health at the time of the
incident
