Purpose: I Observe Lot 229 and 230 Subgrade
Outstanding Issues: 1 FR 311 Soft spot for Lot 228 subgrade (4/22/20)
Upon arrival, I was informed by Rob (TM)that crew had prepared subgrade for footing grade within lot 229 and 230
(see photos)and is marked in attached site plans. I observed 230 and section of lot 229 Subgrade covered with a
thin layer of crushed rock with mixed in AC and concrete pieces. I observed CH crew excavate section of lot 229 to
footing base grade via Link-Belt 130a excavator. The subgrade generally consisted of light brown silt or clay. I used a
%"diameter steel foundation probe, to evaluate the consistency of the subgrade. Resistance to penetration indicated
stiff to very stiff conditions.
Based on our observations and probing, it is our opinion lot 229 and 230 subgrade observed today and which is
referred to in attached site plans, has been prepared in general accordance with project requirements and our
geotechnical recommendations.
