We are writing to inform you of our recommendations for changes to the engineering
design on this project. As requested, we have reviewed the diagonal hole drilled at
the top of the floor beam labeled FBS.
After our review of the hole location and required design loads, we have determined
that the hole is not acceptable where drilled for long term loading conditions.
We recommend removing the wire and sistering on an LSL 1-3/4x14 approximately 4'-
0" long at each side of the beam, then drilling a new hole horizontally into the center
of all three beams. Locate the 5/8"-dia. Hole at 24"from the beams end at the center
of the depth. Connect the LSL using(3) 'SDWS22400DB'screws at ends and center of the
LSL,see the attached for a few related sketches for installation.
