Pursuant to your request,we have prepared this letter to address the (2)2x6 post specified at the interior hold down at the interior
shear wall at the front of the kitchen.It has been reported that the inspector is requesting darification on the orientation of the(2)2x6
post in the 2x4 wall.Please note that a representative from our office has not visited the site,but photos have been provided.
The(2)2x6 interior post may be oriented in either direction,depending on how the corner Of the wall is framed.The 13/4"wide cod
strap used for the hold down shall be fastened to the post Going forward,the(2)2x6 post may be replaced with a(2)2x4 post to
better fit within the wad.
