Minutes of May 9, 2005 meeting

1. Meeting was called to order at 6:30 P.M.
2. Minutes from April 11th meeting approved.
3. City updates
a. Cook Park proposal- begin clearing approximately 27 acres of
invasive non-native vegetation from park and work to plant natives.
b. Stream Restoration and Enhancement Request for Proposals-
meeting with Clean Water services.
c. Community Development
i. Bretton Woods
ii. Alberta Rider E.S.
iii. Bull Mountain
d. City Council meeting on June 21St to discuss 18.790, 18.745 and
the Heritage Tree Program.
4. Julie Russell, a Bull Mountain resident, spoke briefly to the Board about
available property on the mountain that could be purchased as open
space or park land by the City of Tigard.
5. Discussion of several topics with Mr. Frewing related to Community
Development and developing a city-wide tree canopy study. Joe
Poracsky, from Portland State University, will be invited by the Board to
attend July's meeting to discuss the possibility of him becoming involved
in the tree canopy study.
6. Plan on discussing with City Council on June 21St amend the Tree
Board's resolution to allow five citizens to serve on the board, not just four.
Allow sixth position to be either a citizen, Planning Commission member
or Park & Rec. Advisory Board member. Seventh position would be open
to Planning Commission member.
