According to DIN 4112 'Flying Constructions' (,Fliegende Bauten") a maximum wind force of 20 m/s (storm force 8) is used as the determination base. Upon demand of 'The Airscreen Company this determination base has been changed to storm force 5, being the practicable maximum windforce for the projection wall. Due to the fact that the projeciton wall can be completely dismantled within 30 minutes, this constraint is justifiable. The pneumaticaly supported construction consists of a frame-like composed tube manufactured from a synthetic textile. Its own weight is marginal and is being neglected. Proof of the textile construction and the ropes with their attachment points are not subject of this calculation. Wind Strain The following calculation is based upon a maximum wind force of 10 m/s =36 km/h (storm force 5). At higher windspeeds, the projection wall Is being dismantled. Wind Impact Pressure: q=0,10 kN/mz aerodynamic coefficients: ca=0,8+0,5= 1,3 The height of the projection wall above terrain is less than 20 m. Ballasting The projection wall is being anchored with water tanks, water bags, concrete weights or similar items. In case 4 anchorages are mandatory, the bottom corners have to be warped with the ballast (alternatively the projection wall is anchored into the ground at its bottom). Basis The geometry of the projection walls has been determined by the ordering party. Measurings are based upon the German norms (in effect at time of calculation in August 2004): DIN 4112 (02.1983): Flying Constructions('Fliegende Bauten'), DIN 1055-4 (08.1986): Load assumptions for buildings(wind loads) ♦EQ 2 PROft, cpGIN("4,$ki 91PE $o.
