He indicated the location of lots 180-192 (see attached site plan)where the subgrade evaluation was requested. Using a1/2"steel foundation probe, I evaluated the subgrade. Resistance to probing indicated a medium stiff to stiff subgrade. In lots 189, 190 and 191 we observed roots approximately Y2"to 2" in diameter. We recommend over excavating 1' and backfilling with crushed rock in areas with a concentration of roots, within footing locations in lots 189, 190 and 191. Based on observations and probing, the subgrade observed today appears to have been prepared in general accordance with our geotechnical recommendations.
