• Tigard is the state's 12th largest city
• The population was 48,035 at the 2010 census.
• 3rd largest city in Washington County (behind Hillsboro and Beaverton)
• Tigard is at the juncture of three major state highways: Pacific Highway-99W, Highway
217, and 1-5.
• Tigard has more than 452 acres of park land.
• Washington Square, one of the Northwest's largest climate controlled shopping malls is
in Tigard.
• The opening of the Westside Express Service (WES) commuter rail line in early 2009
established urban rail as a transit option for Tigard residents and employees.
• TriMet and Metro have identified the Pacific Highway-99W/Barbur Boulevard corridor
as the next priority for high capacity transit (HCT) service in the region.
• Tigard businesses provide 38,628 full and part time jobs.
• The city of Tigard falls mostly under the jurisdiction of the Tigard-Tualatin School
District.
