Development Tree Replacement Required
Approved with conditions:
The applicant shall plant a replacement tree for each tree removed, or pay a fee in
lieu of planting, in accordance with the Development Tree Replacement Standards
in Section 7, part 2 of the Urban Forestry Manual. Existing trees may be considered
as replacement trees if they meet all applicable species, size, condition and
location requirements in Section 7, part 2 and were not already required to be
planted or preserved by the Tigard Municipal Code.
This decision is final and valid for a period of up to one year after issuance unless
otherwise specified. Nothing prevents you from submitting another tree permit
application if the conditions and circumstances surrounding this removal have
changed.

corner of 72nd and boones ferry road. This tree has over 7 visible fruiting bodies aka
mushrooms, all along the trunk of the tree from approx. 20' up to 40'. This is a sign of severe
trunk rot and decay. We are asking to remove this tree before it comes down. We are going to
plant 1 Deodar cedar tree for mitigation.

Full sun is the ideal condition for this tree, meaning it should get at least six
hours of direct, unfiltered sunlight each day.
Soil Preference
The Deodar cedar grows in acidic, loamy, moist, sandy,well-drained and clay
soils. It prefers moist soil but has good drought tolerance.
Attributes
This tree:
• Makes a soft windscreen.
• Has been successfully used as a street tree, with lower branches pruned for
pedestrian traffic.
• Develops graceful, pendulous branches.
• Features bluish-green or silvery needles with sharp tips that are 1-2" long
and usually borne in clusters. They are shed in late spring as new growth
appears.
• Yields reddish-brown, oval cones that are 3-6" long.
• Produces an aromatic oil that naturally deters insects.
• Grows in a broadly pyramidal shape.
