Re: Floor Joists Calculation
It is my understanding a non-loadbearing wall is to be moved on the main floor level.
The wall supports ceiling joists only, there is not any snow or floor live load on the
ceiling joists. The new wall bears on floor joists approximately 8"from the support. The
joists span 10'-0"and are 2x12's @ 16" o/c. Attached is a calculation for the subject
floor joists. The floor joists are adequate to support floor live load, floor dead load and
the wall above.
