Purpose: Observe Lot 113, 114,and 123 Subgrade
Outstanding Issues:
I observed crews had cut to planed subgrade elevation and placed a skiff T"-2"of crushed rock over exposed
subgrade for Lots 113, 114, and 123 (see site plan). Rock was generally loosely placed. Subgrade appeared to
consist of brown silt and clay documented fill. Resistance to penetration (1/2,"diameter steel foundation probe)
indicates generally medium-stiff to stiff subgrade conditions. For lots 113 and 114, I observed grass growing
through the skiff of crushed rock. We recommend the removal of the grass from the lot subgrades.
For lot 123, I observed approx. 1-inch to 2-inches of loose silt material mixed with the loose skiff of rock. We
recommend placing and compacting approx. 2-inches to 3-inches of crushed rock to key in the loose silt material
observed. On the east side of lot 123, I observed a landscaping retaining wall had been undermined when the lot
was cut to planned subgrade elevation. We recommend the lock+load wall have a minimum embedment of 6".
Based on our observations and conversations with Polygon, it is our opinion that the lot subgrade areas (with the
exception of the lock+load wall mentioned above), as observed today and indicated on attached site plan, are being
prepared in general accordance with our geotechnical recommendations.
