11/20/1984 - Minutes CIVIC CENTER COMMITTEE MINUTES
NOVEMBER 20' 1984
Meeting called to order at 7:40 by Chairperson Valerie Johnson. Committee
members Ed Duffield' Susan Mueller' and Carolyn [a6*n were present' Bob Carn
arrived late. Staff present - Joy Martin. Norm Dull was representing the
Smith/Dull partnership,
A "Prequalifving Bids" letter was discuwned. This letter would outline
certain criteria that anyone interested in bidding this job would have to meet
up front. This helps to establish a fully qualified field of applicants for
the final bidding process. It was decided that such a letter would be
apprupriate. The architects and staff will assist the Committee with drafting
the letter.
The Committee' s next meeting was set for December 13' 1984 at 7:30 p.m.
Location will be set at a later time.
Contract documents calling for 6i6m will be ready to take to Council on
January 14' 1985.
Additive/Deductive alternatives were discussed. Committee was again reminded
that if the additives are made there will be additional architect fees
involved. Any deductivem necessary are included in the existing fee. After
much discussion, the Committee members decided to table any decision until the

Decision on on lioting any deductive alternates was also discussed. The
architects feel they need direction from the Committee in order to continue to
he obligated to bringing this project in on budget with just one bidding
process.
The Committee decided to postpone any decision until the December 13th meeting.
