Re: T-Shirts Plus
Washington Square
The plans for the alteration of the space formerly occupied by the "Just
Leather" Shop to accommodate 1-Shirts Plus have been examined with reference
to current fire regulations. As a result, we are listing as follows re-
quirements which must be observed during the course of the remodeling
project and for which we found no provisions in Lhe plans.
1 . In all new wood-framed walls and partitions, fire-
stopping consisting of 2-inch (nominal ) lumber,
gypsum plasterboard or equivalent material is
required at the ceiling line. Penetrations made
in this firestopping to accommodate wiring, plumbing,
duct work, etc. , must he packed, following the instal-
lation of the utility runs in question, to maintain
the integrity of the firestopping and cut off all
concealed draft openings which could afford a passage
for flame into the attic space.

2. The finish hardware for the rear exit door must be
openable from the inside at all times for immediate
exit without the use of a key, special knowledge or
effort.

3. Inspection and approval of construction by this office
is required:
a) prior to drywall cover of any interior framing
following the installation of the firestopping
and utility runs referred to in Requrement No. 1 .
b) upon completion of construction and prior to
opening the shop for business.

4. Prior to the opening of the shop for business, a Certificate
of Occupancy must be obtained from the Washington County
Building Department.
(ref: Sec. 307 U.B.C. )
Subject to thf foregoing stipulations, the plans under discussion are hereby
approved. We trust this letter will assist in clearing the way for the
further development of the project. Please let us know if we can be of
service in any other way.
