non-structural, fire and life safety p. tion of the plan,, review on 10/19/84 . Listed
on thr2 back of this sheet are the items we find to be in violation of, or for wig ch we find
no provisions for the requirements of the 1982 rdition of the State Uniform Building Code.

1) Doors must be fittec with a type of locking or latching device which will permit the
opening of the door from the inside without the use of a key, special knowledge or
effort, except that exterior exit doors may be fitted with a keyed locking device
which is readily distinguishable as locked and there is a readily visible, durable
sign on or adjacent to the door stating this door to remain unlocked during business
hours.
There shall be floor or landing on each side of a door. The flocr or landing shall be
not more than 1/2 inch lower than the threshold of the doorway. When doors open over
landings, the landing shall have a length of not less than 5 feet. Reference Section
3304, 3.B.C.
2) Exit corridor must be aminimum of 44" in width and extend from the sales area directly
to the rear exit uninterrupted by the ctoragr area. Exit signs 'T"ust be provided
at doors "B" and "C" to clearly indicate the exit route. These doors must swing
in the direction of exit travel .
• 3) Firestopping consisting of 2-inch (nominal) lumber, gypsum plasterboard or equivalent
material is required to cut off all ,oncealed draft openings (both vertical and horiv.
and shall form an effective barrier between stories and tetween a top story and roof
space. It shall be used in specific locations as Follows:
a) In all wood-framed walls and partitions at floor and ceiling lines.
