Section 305(B), "It shall be the duty of the person doing the work authorized by a permit to notify the Building Official that such work is ready for inspection It shall be the duty of the person requesting any inspections required by this Code to provide access to and means for proper inspection of such work." 1 The Structural Specialty Code, Section 303(0), deals with the expiration of11( building permits: "Every building permit issued by the Building Official under the provisions of this Code shall expire by limitation and become null and void if the building or work authorized by such permit is not commenced within 180 days from the date of such permit, or if the building or work r authorized by such permit is suspended or abandoned at any time after the work ( has commenced for a period of 180 days." This require- ment shall not apply to the exterior exit doors of this I occupancy if there is a readily visible, durable sign on or adjacent to the door stating "THIS DOOR TO REMAIN UNLOCKED DURING BUSINESS HOURS." The sign shall be in letters not less than 1 inch high on a contrasting back- ground. The locking device must be of a type that will be readily distinguishable as locked.
