Washington Square Mall
The plans for the minor remodeling to accommodate tnis new tenant in the
space formerly occupied by Merle Norman, have been revieved with respect
to the currently applicable regulations of this jurisdiction. As a result
we are listing as follows those requirements which must be observed during
the course of construction and subsequent occupancy of this space and for
which we found no provisions on the submitted drawings.
1. The new metal door shown as providing access to the room containing
the existing sink must be openable from the ._tail sales side at all
times for immediate exit without the use of a key, special knowledge
or effort.
2. A standard exit sign must be provided on or above the door mentioned
in requirement #1. The exit sign must have letters not less than
6 inches in height with the principal strokes being not lees than
3;4 inch in width. The sign must be readily visible to the store
occupants.
3. The room containing the existing sink must not be used for storage,
a restroom, a closet, kitchen or similar usage. That is, two exits
are required from the retail sales area and exits must not pass thru
rooms used for the aforementioned listed occupancies.
The drawings, according to ou- interpretation, do not provide for the con-
struction of any new walls or partitions. Accordingly, the existing
sprinkler coverage should be adequate.
