We have reviewed your blueprints for the above-proposed co":truction and
have the following rec,uirements.
1. Exit doors shall swing in the direction of exit travel .
Doors shall be openable from the inside without the
use of a key, special knowledge or effort. This re-
quirement shall not apply to exterior exit door in a
Group B Occupancy if there is a readily visible,
durable sign on or adjacent to the door stating,
"THIS DOOR TO IEMAIN UNLOCKED DURING BUSINESS HOURS."
The sign shall be in letters not less than 1 inch
high on a contrasting background. The locking device
must be a type that will be readily distinguishable
as locked. Manually-operated edge or surface-mounted
flush bolts and surface bolts are prohibited. When
exit doors are ►.sed in pairs and approved automatic
flush bolts are used, the door leaf having the
automatic flush bolts shall have no door knob or
other surface-mounted hardware. The unlatching of
any leaf shall not require more than one operation.

2. There shall be a floor or landing on each side of
the door. The floor or larding shall he not more
than 1/2-inch lover than the threshold of the door-
way. When doors open over landings, the landing
shall have a length of not less thin 5 feet.

to provide coverlge above and below the ceiling.
Sprinkler heads shall not be obstructed by lirhting
or other fixtures.

4. All insulation materials including facings, such as
vapor barriers or breather papers installed within
floor-ceiling assemblies, roof-ceH inq assemblies,
walls, crawl spaces or attics shall have a flame-
spread rating not to exceed 25 and cr smoke density
not to exceed 450 when tested in accordance with U.B.C.
Standard Nu. 42-1.
(ref: Sec. 1713 U.B.C.)
5. Exit signs shall be installed at required exit door-
ways. Words on the signs shall be in block letters
6 inches in height with a stroke of not less than 3/4
of an inch. Signs shall be internally or externally
illuminated by two electric lamps or shall be of an
approved self-luminous type.
