Highway 101 Solana Beach, California 92075 Dear Mr. Harfiel : Re: Lane Bryant (PC 4585) Washington Square The plans for this project have been exarr 'ned with reference to currently applicable fire safety regulations and as a result we are lising as follows those requirements which must be observed during the course of construction and for which we found no specific provisions in the submitted contract documents. In the first instance, full automatic sprinkler coverage is required and plans therefore must be submitted to and approved by a representative of this office prior to the alteration of the system whi,:h serves this space. Automatic sprinkler heads must not be located closer than 1 font nor more than 7-1/2 i. _t from any wall , partition or other bulkhead. Further, the recessed light fixture space which is located along the perimeter walls of the project area will require special consideration since the visual screen which conceals the light fixtures will present an obstruction to the spray pattern of the sprinkler heads located in the sales space. Firestopping must be provided at the ceiling line of the furred wells and in all partitions wherein wood studs are employee. Penetration,. made in this prescribed firestopping to accommodate wiring, plumbing, duct work and similar utility runs must be packed, following the installation of said utility runs, in a manner which will effectively maintain the integrity of the firestopping and cut off all concealed draft openings which could afford a pas'.age for flame. Inspection and approval of construction by a representative of this office is required prior to the cover of any new framing and furring and again upon completion of construction prior to opening for business.
