1 ) The proposed two-hour corridor system as well as the temporary exit 111 p.
corridor from lobby 100 to the north must be completed prior to any
occupancy o: the Mercedes-Benz space.
2) The new two-hour fire-resistive corridor is part of the stairway
enclosure and shall have no openings or penetrations other than exit

examined with reference to fire and life safety regulations .
The following are requirements which 119st be observed during the
course of construction and for which no provisions were shown on
the submitted Irawings .
1 . Door to stairway and corridor system must be enclosed , smoke-
gasketed 90-minute rated doors with full two -hour fire resis-
tive construction in new corridor system . I: .

construction and one-hour fire resistive throughout. Reference

2) Exit dogs to the public corridor shall have a fire-protection
rating of not less than 20 minutes, and have a tight-iatting smoke
and draft-control assembly. Doors to be self-closing or automatic
closing.
3) Doors must be fittcd with a type of locking or latching device
which will permit the opening of the door from the inside without
tha use of a key, special knowledge or effort, except that exterior
exit doors may be fitted with a keyed locking device which is
readily distinguishable as locked and there is a readily visible,
durable sign on or adjacent to the door stating this door to rema?n
unlocked during business hours.
4) Glass used in doors or in glazing located within 12 inches of the
nearest vertical edge of a door or in areas subject to hi man
impact, shall he tempered or of an approved safety glazing
material . Reference Section 5906, S.B.C .
i) In lieu of submitting an engineers design, suspended ceilings and
fixtures shall be supported cs specified in U.E.C. Standard 47-18
and shall be laterally braced as shown on the attached cross
section. 1dditioncl information of standard requirements is
available if needed upon request.
6) Flans for the installation or alteration of the automatic sprinkler
,.ystem must be provided to and approved by Washington County Fire
District #1 prior to such installation or alteration.
7) Subject to the above listed items the plans for this project are
approved for construction, insofar as the Land Development

Dear Alan,
This letter is in rega-d to our conversations concerning the
glazing of the fifth and sixth floors at Lincoln II North.
i hats looked thc:wgh the U.B.C. catalog and found that the
1/4" plass moaca all codes required by law. I have also had
several ncnversetione with Dan Hines and Don Howick at the
Washington County Building Department. They informed me that
they are the only people who have inspection jurisdiction on
your building and do not know who or why someone told you thu
glass didn't meet code. Anrorr'ing to the U.O.C., 1/4" glass
can be up to 107sf with a 10p:tf wind load. Several individuals
have inf3rmed me that a 5paf wind load is all you really mad
to figure on for interior glazing. If at tel you read this you
still feel the glass is unsafe, our offer to provide the labor
if yuu provide the glass still remains. Thank you for your
patience in this matter.
