The meeting convened at 6:30 p.m. The Committee members present were:
David Chapman, George Burgess, Councilor Joyce Patton, Sue Carver, Kathy
Sleeger and Elaine Heras. Staff present were Bill Monahan, Gus Duenas and
Margaret Barnes.
Chairperson David Chapman asked the Committee to review the meeting notes
from the April 9 Committee meeting. After the notes were amended to include
the corrections noted by Councilor Patton, a motion was made by Burgess and a
second by Patton. The Committee approved the notes as amended.
There was a brief discussion of the "Building Program Report." After the
discussion a motion was made by Sleeger and a second by Patton to accept the

about the three representative sites. He also updated the Committee regarding
the preliminary contact City staff has had with the property owners of each of the
sites.
The Committee had additional discussion about representative sites B, D and E.
At the end of the discussion, given some of the issues concerning Site B, the
Committee agreed by consensus, to drop Site B from further consideration at this
time.
The Committee discussed what the next steps are for the Committee in terms of
public education and the development of "fact sheets" for the public. It was
suggested by Councilor Patton and the City Manager that the Committee have
information distributed at the 4th of July event. Staff is developing an
informational brochure to distribute at the 'Balloon Festival." This same brochure
will be able to be used at the "Old Time 4th of July" event.
The Committee will meet again on Monday, June 11 at 6:30 p.m. The
Committee is scheduled to meet with the City Council at a workshop session of
