We have elected to set the new heat pump on the roof, please see attached M1 and M2. Please confirm if you would
like me to come in to submit these new documents. The parapets are at least 40" tall which should be more than
enough for screening heat pump from the street.

Subject: Heat pump at Pioneer Weatherproofing property
Hi Jeff,
This e-mail is a follow-up to our phone call today. If you place the heat pump at the front of the property,
where it's visible from the street, we'll require screening. See details on screening requirements below. We
discussed two location options for the heat pump on the phone:
• Wall-mounted: will require screening, but no land use review, because you're not removing any
landscaping
• On the ground, in the planter area: will require screening and land use review. The land use review
is called a minor modification. The application fee is $325 and the review time is about 4 business
days. We'll need updated landscaping calculations for the site, to make sure you're still meeting the
minimum 15% landscaping requirement. If you choose this option, let me know and I can send you
more details on how to apply for the minor modification.
