Purpose: Observation of Lot 1 54 & 155 subgrade

FR275 (1/21/19) - soft subgrade lots 154&155
Lot 154 Subgrade
I observed subgrade to consist of brown silt fill with varying amounts of gravel. I used a%2"diameter steel
foundation probe to evaluate consistency of the subgrade. Resistance to penetration indicated generally stiff to very
stiff material. The slope of the lot on the east side probed soft(see area indicated on attached site plan). We
recommend over-excavating this slope to stiff subgrade material (approx. 1')and backfilling with crushed rock.
Lot 155 5ubgrade
I observed subgrade to consist of brown silt fill with varying amounts of gravel. Resistance to penetration indicated
medium stiff material, however material was saturated and soft underfoot.We recommend over-excavating Lot 155
by approx. 6"and backfilling with crushed rock ensuring that it is dense and well-keyed.
Conclusion
Based on observations, it is our opinion that subgrade for Lots 154& 155, provided recommendations are
implemented, is being prepared in general accordance with our geotechnical recommendations.
