10/18/1977 - Minutes MINUTES LIBRARY BOARD, TIGARD, OR October 18, 1977
Call to Order The regular meeting of the Library Board
& Roll Call : was called to order at 1 : 50 P.M. on October
18, 1977.
Present : Yvonne Burgess, Betsy Chick, Jeri
Cundiff and Irene Ertell. Excused: Mary Slemons
and Don Jacobs.
Reports: Minutes from the previous meeting were approved.
The Librarian presented the monthly report
and the annual Statistical Report for the
State Library.
Old Business: The Librarian suggested thak the Board adopt
as its donation policy the one suggested in
the Oregon Library Association paper, "What
to do When the Censor Comes, " since it states
clearly and concisely TPL' s current practimes.
Motion: Betsy Chick moved that this statement be
adopted and incorporated in the TPL Statement
of Policy. The motion was seconded and passed.
New Business: Librarian reported that a user had insisted on
bringing a pet dog into the Library on three
Motion: separate occasions. Jeri Cundiff moved that
the Board formally adopt the policy that
no pets will be brought into the Library by
users. The motion was seconded and passed.
The Librarian was instructed to write a letter
outlining and explaining the policy to the
user for signature of the Board Chairman.
The meeting adjourned at 3:00 P.M.
