Present at the meeting were Ann Hicks, Dee Patterson,
Rosanna Peterson, Don Jacobs, and 14ary Slemons.
-Under o16 business Ann reported that the City will not
approve the purchase of any more books until the library is
more tidy.
The funds from the recent book sale put on by the Friends
of the Tigard Library are ear-marked for the purchase of a steel
card"' cabinet for the library. A regular filing cabinet may be
purchased by the City for library use also.
Two memorial gifts were presented to the library; children' s
books were purchased with the funds. Thank you notes were sent
to all the donors.
Fifteen hundred dollars (41,500,00) has been designated
for new books -in the 1972 budget ; three hundred dollars ($300.00)
will be for materials and supplies used in the library.
The City is paying for a girl who helps Ann in the library
twenty hours a week.
The record player for which funds were donated by Mrs.
Christensen of King City will be coming soon along with records
and possibly ear phones.
Under new business Dee reported that both her term and
Charlotte Uison' s term on the Library Board will be expiring
soon. Several names were discussed as replacement members.
Dee will recommend Jerri Cundiff, Ed Carlisle, Lynn Scrog6ins,
and June Young to the City Council as possible new members.
The next meeting will be September 2, 1972, at 8:00 p8m*
at the library.
